The Annual Bloggers Bash Awards are Back!

Now in its fifth year, the Annual Bloggers Bash returns bigger and better than ever. The venue is booked, the date is set for Saturday 15th June 2019 and the committee is busy working behind the scenes to ensure the day is full of fun, learning opportunities, networking, and, of course, the Blogtastic award ceremony. For more information about events on the day, click here!

The Awards

The Annual Bloggers Bash Awards are open to bloggers from all over the world, and are nominated and voted for by the blogging community and general public.

This year, we have changed a number of the categories and the process in which the nominations happen, so please read the information below carefully.

Nominations will be submitted via email.

Each nominee will receive a ‘Congratulations Pack,’ complete with a badge to share on their blog and social media. Congratulations Packs will be received within a few working days of the nomination, and nominees are welcome to share their badges as soon as they like, instead of waiting for a specific nominations post after it has closed.

Each blog is allowed just one nomination, and you cannot nominate yourself. If a blog is nominated more than once for several different categories they will automatically be submitted for the first category they are nominated for.

The ‘Best Overall Blog’ award has been removed from the nominations. Instead, a team of judges will select one nominated blog from each category to be shortlisted for the Best Overall Blog section, which will then be open for public voting.

Here are the new award categories – read through the criteria and see if there are any blogs that you feel deserve a nomination!

I read plenty of good blogs that don’t readily fit into those categories. I think it’s a shame you don’t have something like a ‘Best Multifaceted Blog’ category, as you’re omitting many good writers by these choices.

I think we’re in a rather no win situation I’m afraid. Last year the complaints were that the categories were too ambiguous and the same types of blogs therefore won lots of the awards. This year the complaint is that the categories are too specific or don’t include enough topics. Unfortunately, we aren’t going to be able to cover every single topic – if someone covers lots of topics that aren’t in a specific category they can potentially be submitted under the ‘Lifestyle Category’ as stated in the descriptions.

Wow, I can’t believe another year has passed. Thanks for organizing this event again and for giving us the opportunity to vote for the best blogs. The blurb for “best book blog” has a typo in it, as it mentions the blog above instead of “book blog”.

Oooo exciting times! I’d never make it into something like this but for me it’s a great way to give a nod to other bloggers & discover new blogs at the same time. I’ll be ready to nominate on 1st Feb!

I’m sorry to see the inspirational category gone. And maybe eliminating the best overall is a good thing. The problem is, my favorite bloggers don’t fit into one category. They cross over into many. I will do my best to nominate. Thank you!

I think that the ambiguity of the inspirational category and many others caused a little difficulty when ensuring that blogs were nominated for the correct category and we found that some were confused. If a blog talks about lots of different things in a conversational style then it falls into the lifestyle category. All of the others are very clear. Remember that you can only vote for one per category.
